Question: Lightroom Classic or CC?

Answer: There are actually two versions of LR, Classic and CC. I prefer to use the Classic version because CC can quickly become very expensive with lots of photos (cloud costs).

Question: RAW or JPG?

Answer: You can work in JPG or RAW or use both image formats. You can always get more out of RAW. But there are also reasons in favour of JPG and of course you can also edit JPG easily and amazingly well with LR.

Question: Is there a charge for Lightroom?

Answer: LR is chargeable and unfortunately only available as a rental programme. It costs around € 144 per month. So you can't get LR for free, but free software is usually not as comprehensive as this image editing programme.

Question: Which is better Lightroom or Lightroom Classic?

Answer: LR CC is the version for travelling or for sharing between different computers. Lightroom Classic, on the other hand, has a wider range of functions and is cheaper in the long run because the cloud is quickly full with CC and additional cloud storage costs a lot of money. I always recommend the Lightroom Classic version with backup.

Question: What is the difference between Lightroom and Photoshop?

Answer: There is a big difference between LR and Adobe Photoshop. In contrast to LR, a workflow with many photos is tedious with Photoshop. Photoshop can crop subjects and create collages. LR Classic is sufficient for most photographers. Supplementing image processing with Photoshop can be valuable for agencies, advertising and creative work.
