Quote from photo student Timo about the course:
Timo Nix | 18 February 2015
After teaching myself the art of photography to some extent, I received a voucher for Peter Roskothen's photography school for my birthday. As I had already had a few experiences with poor VHS courses, the voucher made me rather sceptical and thoughtful. All these thoughts were blown away in the first few minutes with Peter. Peter Roskothen proved to be a friendly and competent teacher. After a very short time, he was able to determine my level of knowledge and pick up where I was lacking in knowledge/practice. At the end of his course, I was able to take away many valuable tips and tricks. I can highly recommend the photo school! Not just for beginners!
Kind regards

Thank you Timo,
Your partner, of whom you took such great photos, had already described you as a very experienced amateur photographer. She is absolutely right. I'm all the more pleased that I was able to show you lots of tips and tricks from your everyday professional life and that you handled it so well. I had already admired your photos on the Internet before the photo course. They are very good, staged with a lot of imagination and calm, very natural and valuable.
I hope to see you again and wish you great portraits!
Sincerely, Peter
The photo course on portrait photography was very valuable and good for me. The subject had been on my mind for some time, but I was simply missing some expert advice and background knowledge such as lighting, positioning of the person to be photographed and much more.
Peter took a lot of time for the theory and the subsequent practice and I was then able to put what I had learnt into practice under his supervision in his studio and then outside in the park.
All in all, I got a lot of valuable tips and advice along the way and now have a lot to practise ;-)
I can only recommend the photo courses with Peter! He has a great way of explaining and teaching the topics.
I really enjoyed the photo course on portrait photography. I haven't really dared to tackle this subject before as I don't have a creative streak. I am familiar with the camera technique and the theory, but I find it difficult to pose a person in a specific way. Mr Roskothen showed me the best way to take a good portrait photo. Starting with the lighting, poses and camera settings. I particularly liked the fact that we worked with my own equipment and didn't use professional studio lighting.
I can only recommend Mr Roskothen to anyone who is interested, as he demonstrated a well-structured approach in his seminar and provided a good course, starting with the theory and continuing with the practice.
The voucher for a 1:1 photo training session with Peter Roskothen was a Christmas present from my loved one.
As I taught myself photography (apart from the odd VHS course) using YouTube and other relevant sources of information, this form of learning was unfamiliar at first.
Peter looks at the photos on the PC together with the "student", makes sensible and constructive comments without "hanging out" the teacher. You are secretly quizzed a little to test your existing knowledge - I've noticed, Peter... :-). This means that Mr Roskothen knows exactly where to "pick you up". Then it's on to the practical part, where the photos are taken with a lot of patience, expertise and fun. Afterwards there are tips on image editing. I definitely took something away with me. Thank you Peter...
