Photographing in the rain - searching for photo motifs

Photographing in the rain

Grefrath, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Taking photos in the rain is only for photographers who are really enthusiastic. So get out into nature and look for motifs. If you keep your eyes open, you can find very beautiful motifs even in the rain...

Creative photography in the rain

Here on the Lower Rhine it has been raining for what feels like 352 days. The meadows are under water and there are probably already goldfish and sharks swimming in the meadows. In any case, countless swans have already made themselves at home and feel at home in the Lower Rhine valley.

No reason not to take photos. Either we photographers wait for a break in the rainy sky or we dare to go out and look for motifs. Most cameras are relatively insensitive to the wetness from above. However, we would do well to take a cloth for the lens with us to clean the front lens of dried drops from time to time.

Tip: Clean the lens with a good cloth from your optician

Then it's off on a discovery tour in the countryside or in the city. Finding beautiful motifs in nature is not difficult. In this case, it was a puddle that formed a beautiful contrast between the grey path and the reddish shimmering sky reflected in the water at sunset.

In the puddle, drops of water could even create movement and further distortions in the reflection. Rain is often not even visible in photos. This can change if we use a flash. But you can actually discover very beautiful motifs even in bad weather. With time and good attention, we can find many interesting photo motifs.
